Betty & Jason — Umbria, Italy

The weekend began in the medieval town of Todi, where the narrow streets and stone buildings offered a different setting from the countryside that came later. After the town session, we made our way to a private estate near the Tuscan border, surrounded by olive groves, cypress trees, and views across the valley.

The dinner was set outside beneath the trees, with a long table dressed in striped linens and baskets of tomatoes, garlic, and olive branches running down the center. The stationery played with the same idea through vintage typography and illustrations of the Italian landscape.

Betty wore a structured pleated gown with a wide-brimmed straw hat and veil, paired with Jason's textured brown suit. The clothing, the setting, and the warm tones of the property all felt connected to the place without looking overly styled.

The evening concluded with a classic Italian cream cake topped with red currants.

The next day brought a completely different mood. The weekend ended with a pool party overlooking the valley.

Intimate wedding weekends leave more room for intention. With fewer people and fewer moving parts, there is often more freedom to be thoughtful about the design, the fashion, the setting, and the experience as a whole. For Betty and Jason, each part of the weekend felt considered without feeling overly planned — and that made it especially special to photograph.
