Ashley and Zachary’s wedding weekend on Long Island brought together classic East Coast tradition with a relaxed summer atmosphere.
The weekend began with a rehearsal dinner before the ceremony at historic St. John’s in Cold Spring Harbor. The waterfront church gave the ceremony a classic setting, followed by a reception at The Heritage Club of Bethpage.
The reception kept that sense of tradition but felt more modern in its design. Soft-toned florals and refined furniture filled the space, with a custom green-and-ivory dance floor at the center of the room. Live music kept the dance floor full through the end of the night.
The following morning, everyone gathered again — this time at Ashley’s parents’ home for a pool party. Wood-fired pizza, drinks, and time by the water made for a much slower afternoon after the formalities of the wedding.
I love when a wedding weekend has room for both. The ceremony and reception can feel polished and considered, while the rest of the weekend gives everyone a chance to slow down and spend time together without an agenda.
For Ashley and Zachary, the pool party was a fitting way to end the weekend: at home, surrounded by family and friends, with nowhere else they needed to be.
